1 А оце останні Давидові слова: „Сло́во Давида, сина Єссе́євого, і слово му́жа високопоста́вленого, пома́заного Богом Якововим, і солодкого піснотво́рця Ізра́їлевого.

2 Дух Господній гово́рить в мені, а слово Його — на моїм язику́!

3 Сказав Бог Ізраїлів, Скеля Ізраїлева говорила мені: пану́ючий серед людей, — справедливий панує у Божім страху́!

4 І він буде, як світло пора́нку безхма́рного, коли сонце вихо́дить уранці, і як з бли́ску трава вироста́є з землі по дощі!

5 Чи мій дім не такий перед Богом? Вічного бо запові́та в усьому мені там укла́дено — і він стереже́ться, бо він усе спасі́ння моє й усе жада́ння! Хіба Він не дасть, щоб він виріс?

6 А нечестивий, як те́рен, відки́нений, і вони всі, бо рукою його не беруть.

7 А хто хоче до них доторкну́тись, нехай запасе́ться залізом чи де́ржаком спи́са, і на місці своїм огнем будуть попа́лені!“

8 А оце імена Давидових ли́царів: Йошев-Башшевет, тахкемонець, голова ґвардії, — він вимахував своїм держако́м одним ра́зом на вісім сотень побитих.

9 По ньому Елеаза́р, син Додо, сина Ахохі, був серед трьох лицарів з Давидом. Коли филисти́мляни зневажа́ли ізраїльтян, що зібралися там на війну, і повтікали всі ізра́їльтяни,

10 він устав, та й ударив на филисти́млян, аж змучилася рука його, і приліпилася рука його до меча. І зробив Господь велике спасі́ння того дня, а наро́д вертався за ним тільки на грабува́ння.

11 А по ньому Шамма, син Аґе, гарарянин. І зібралися филисти́мляни до Лехи, а там була діля́нка поля, повна сочеви́ці, а наро́д повтікав перед филисти́млянами.

12 І став він посере́дині тієї діля́нки та й врятував її, а филисти́млян побив. І зробив Господь велике спасі́ння.

13 І зійшли троє з тридцяти напоча́тку, і прийшли в жнива́ до Давида, до твердині Адуллам. А громада филисти́млян таборува́ла в долині Рефаїм.

14 Давид же тоді був у твердині, а залога филистимська була тоді в Віфлеємі.

15 І спра́гнув Давид та й сказав: „Хто напо́їть мене водою з криниці, що в брамі?“

16 I про́дерлися ці три ли́царі до филистимського табо́ру, і зачерпну́ли води з віфлеємської криниці, що в брамі. І вони ви́несли, і прине́сли до Давида, та він не схотів її пити, — і вилив її для Господа,

17 та й сказав: „Борони мене, Господи, чинити таке! Чи я буду пити кров тих му́жів, що ходили, наража́ючи життям своїм? І не хотів він пити її... Оце зроби́ли три ці ли́царі.

18 А Авіша́й, брат Йоава, Церуїного сина, — він голова цих тридцяти. І він вимахував своїм списо́м над трьо́ма сотнями, що побив. І він мав славу серед тих трьох.

19 Із тих тридцятьо́х він був найбільше поважа́ний, і став він їм за провідника́. А до тих трьох не належав.

20 А Бена́я, син Єгоядин, син хороброго мужа, багаточи́нний, з Кавцеїлу, побив двох синів Аріїла моавського. І він зійшов, і забив лева в сере́дині ями сніжного дня.

21 Також побив він одного єги́птянина, мужа поставно́го, а в руці цього єги́птянина був спис. І зійшов він до нього з києм, і видер списа́ з руки того єги́птянина, — та й убив його списо́м його.

22 Оце зробив Беная, син Єгоядин, і його слава була серед тих трьох лицарів.

23 З тих тридцяти він був поважні́ший, а до тих трьох не належав. І Давид призна́чив його до своєї таємної ради.

24 Асаїл, Йоавів брат, серед тих тридцяти; Елханан, син Додів, із Віфлеєму;

2 The Spirit7307 of the LORD3068 spoke1696 by me, and his word4405 was in my tongue.3956

3 The God430 of Israel3478 said,559 the Rock6697 of Israel3478 spoke1696 to me, He that rules4910 over men120 must be just,6662 ruling4910 in the fear3374 of God.430

4 And he shall be as the light216 of the morning,1242 when the sun8121 rises,2224 even a morning1242 without3808 clouds;5645 as the tender grass1877 springing out of the earth776 by clear shining5051 after rain.4306

5 Although3588 my house1004 be not so3651 with God;410 yet3588 he has made7760 with me an everlasting5769 covenant,1285 ordered6186 in all3605 things, and sure:8104 for this is all3605 my salvation,3468 and all3605 my desire,2656 although3588 he make it not to grow.6779

6 But the sons of Belial1100 shall be all3605 of them as thorns6975 thrust5074 away,5074 because3588 they cannot3808 be taken3947 with hands:3027

7 But the man376 that shall touch5060 them must be fenced4390 with iron1270 and the staff6086 of a spear;2595 and they shall be utterly burned8313 with fire784 in the same place.7675

8 These428 be the names8034 of the mighty1368 men whom834 David1732 had: The Tachmonite8461 that sat3427 in the seat,7675 chief7218 among the captains;7991 the same1931 was Adino5722 the Eznite:6112 he lift up his spear against5921 eight8083 hundred,3967 whom he slew2491 at one259 time.6471

9 And after310 him was Eleazar499 the son1121 of Dodo1734 the Ahohite,1121 266 one of the three7969 mighty1368 men with David,1732 when they defied2778 the Philistines6430 that were there8033 gathered622 together to battle,4421 and the men376 of Israel3478 were gone5927 away:

10 He arose,6965 and smote5221 the Philistines6430 until5704 3588 his hand3027 was weary,3021 and his hand3027 stuck1692 to the sword:2719 and the LORD3068 worked6213 a great1419 victory8668 that day;3117 and the people5971 returned7725 after310 him only389 to spoil.6584

12 But he stood3320 in the middle8432 of the ground,2513 and defended5337 it, and slew5221 the Philistines:6430 and the LORD3068 worked6213 a great1419 victory.8668

13 And three7991 of the thirty7970 chief7218 went3381 down,3381 and came935 to David1732 in the harvest7105 time to the cave4631 of Adullam:5725 and the troop2416 of the Philistines6430 pitched2583 in the valley6010 of Rephaim.7497

14 And David1732 was then227 in an hold,4686 and the garrison4673 of the Philistines6430 was then in Bethlehem.1035

15 And David1732 longed,183 and said,559 Oh that one would give me drink8248 of the water4325 of the well953 of Bethlehem,1035 which834 is by the gate!8179

16 And the three7969 mighty1368 men broke1234 through1234 the host4264 of the Philistines,6430 and drew7579 water4325 out of the well953 of Bethlehem,1035 that was by the gate,8179 and took5375 it, and brought935 it to David:1732 nevertheless he would14 not drink8354 thereof, but poured5258 it out to the LORD.3068

17 And he said,559 Be it far2486 from me, O LORD,3068 that I should do6213 this:2063 is not this the blood1818 of the men582 that went1980 in jeopardy of their lives?5315 therefore he would14 not drink8354 it. These428 things did6213 these428 three7969 mighty1368 men.

18 And Abishai,52 the brother251 of Joab,3097 the son1121 of Zeruiah,6870 was chief7218 among three.7992 And he lifted5782 up his spear2595 against5921 three7969 hundred,3967 and slew2491 them, and had the name8034 among three.7969

19 Was he not most honorable3513 of three?7969 therefore he was their captain:8269 however, he attained935 not to the first three.7969

20 And Benaiah1141 the son1121 of Jehoiada,3111 the son1121 of a valiant2428 man,376 of Kabzeel,6909 who had done6213 many7227 acts,6467 he slew5221 two8147 lion like739 men of Moab:4124 he went3381 down3381 also and slew5221 a lion738 in the middle8432 of a pit953 in time3117 of snow:7950

21 And he slew2026 an Egyptian,4713 a goodly4758 man:376 and the Egyptian4713 had a spear2595 in his hand;3027 but he went3381 down3381 to him with a staff,7626 and plucked1497 the spear2595 out of the Egyptian's4713 hand,3027 and slew5221 him with his own spear.2595
